Laura R. Iturralde has been working in stage design since 2015, specializing in art direction for live performances, with a particular focus on lighting and video projections. Her artistic approach aims to transform spaces through light, enhancing the narrative of the projects she collaborates on. She has worked with artists and institutions such as Mercedes Peón, Brigitte Vasallo, Tito Asorey, Guadi Galego, Tanxugueiras, David Amor, and both the Galician and National Drama Centers. Her work has taken her to countries like Brazil, Colombia, Turkey, France and Belgium. In recent years, she has received six María Casares Awards for Best Lighting and Set Design, as well as the National Rogelio de Egusquiza Award in 2021. Over the past seven years, she has accumulated a total of eleven nominations.
She combines her work in the performing arts with teaching. She gives courses and lectures in various public and private institutions and is part of the teaching staff of the Music Project Accelerator and the Sonemerxente program, promoted by the Paideia Foundation.
Since 2022, she has been the Galician representative of the Association of Lighting and Designers, an organization dedicated to gaining recognition for the role of the lighting and video designer.
